Douglas County Information
|
Douglas County was founded in 1858
and contains 20 townships and 11 cities. Alexandria houses the county offices and has a population of approximately 33,000. Douglas County's oldest claim is the legendary Kensington Runestone. The Runestone was discovered in a farmer's field in the late1800's near the town of Kensington. Today you may see it on display at the Runestone Museum in Alexandria.
